It sounds like the HKS is the way to go for us sedan owners. I just picked it up yesterday from Chad@infinitispecialists. Great price too. It will be installed this week in addition to coupe mid pipe and stock Y. Can't wait.

You will NOT be disappointed! Let us know what you think!!! Not only is the exhaust note amazing, but check out the gurgle in Manumatic when you're in like 3rd gear and rev up to 4K or so, and then pull your foot off the gas.....

I will join the club this weekend. Based on the Fedex tracking report my HKS rear section is out for delivery which means it will be on my car tomorrow! Ever since I took off my Stillen catback (fitment issues) my car has been too dang quiet.

Wow Jamey...I hadn't read about your Stillen issues till now. That's too bad....though I don't think you'll be disappointed in the HKS.

Actually, I'm really looking forward to your comparison of the Stillen vs. the HKS. Not that I'd switch over to Stillen, but I'd love to hear what you have to say. Can you reply to this thread, or start your own once you install it? Thanks.

PS - Did you get the bracker/hanger adapters for the '05 for your HKS?

jimmyc,

I installed my HKS on Friday evening. Now that I have had a chance to drive around a bit, all I can say is that I love it! It sounds great. In my opinion, this is exactly how the sedans should sound. Others have described it as an exotic exhaust note and I have to agree. There is noting "ricer" about this muffler.

In comparing the HKS to the Stillen, the Stillen was louder (although not significantly). They actually have a very similar sound. I will say I wish the HKS was as loud as the Stillen but I am probably in the minority on this. I don't mind drone (actually I prefer a bit).

Fitment is perfect (yes I did get the bracket for my 05). In the looks department, I like the HKS' rolled tips better than the Stillen. Also, I like how the HKS is tucked under the bumper a bit more and doesn't stick out as much when compared to the Stillen or stock muffler (I imagine this is due to the fact that it was designed for the 03-04).

As far as performance, everthing feels exactly the same to me. This is purely a sound and looks mod and I could not be happier. I spent much more on the Stillen and based on my dynos on my car I did not get any added performance with that either. The HKS is well worth the money I spent. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a more aggressive sounding car!

As others have stated, thanks to Chad for making this a very easy purchase.

I will post some pics tonight so everyone can see this on an 05 (I searched when I was looking and didn't see any out there).

Sweet! Thanks man. Glad you like it! I too like the look of the HKS "rolled" tips better too.
