Can it be mated to the stock y-pipe, or, because the pipping it 3'', you have to get an aftermarket Y?

you'll be ok going from smaller piping (stock Y) to larger aftermarket (Pro1)... that won't create any kind of restriction.

if it was vice versa, i would say not to do it. but that should be fine
