Ingen Dual Cat back exhaust issue

Hi,

I was thinking about buying an Injen Dual Cat back exhaust system.
INJEN system part#SES1992C

But I have read that some systems were plagued by a fiberglass issue/problem.
Is that true?

If so how to recognize the trouble free exhaust from the defective ones?
(I was thinking about buying a slightly used system)

Any inputs would be appreciated.

They fixed the problem and fiber glass is no longer an issue so you are all good

Good news that they fixed the issue.

Still if I'm buying a used one how can I make sure it is not the plagued one?
Is there a rev. number embossed on the exhaust or something like that I can double check?

Tx

The issue is that on the inside of the muffler there is fiberglass.....some of the first Injen exhaust systems kept on blowing out the fiberglass all over. Yes they fixed it. As far as buying a used one just make sure you trust the guy and make sure they got it fixed. I just bought mine off a guy and its fine but the sound is a little loud for my taste so I think im going to sell it soon. Good luck with the exhaust

I was at a impromtu meet in Santa Clara, last year, and saw the Injen issue first hand. It seems that the fiberglass insulation/packing blows out of the system and deposits itself on the rear of the car. I would have to imagine that over time, that this older set-up will become quite loud.

Can anyone confirm for sure that there is NO physical difference between the good and the bad ones?

I've heard that there was no physical difference as well. But I would check to see how long he's had it and if he doesn't have the problem already, I would safely assume that you're safe.

yo the injen exhaust is garbage...sounds like a ricer....personally if i owned the coupe i wouldnt even change the exhaust...the stock is the most unique and amzing sound i ve heard come from a stock car... I could understand the performance aspect but like i said i wouldnt change it... I do have a sedan and am buying a borla....thats the best bet

I have Injen exhaust installed on my car and I love every second of it. BUT it is VERY DEEP AND LOUD even at idle. It sounds even louder compare to the sound clip (if u ever heard one). After having it for a year, I DO feel that even coupe stock exhaust is too quiet. So my suggestion, if you like to listen to slow music, I WOULD NOT SUGGEST YOU TO BUY IT. However, if you like to listen to trance or rock music then this exhaust suit you the best. Just my 2 cents.

yea if your looking for quiet dont go with the injen... try to make it to one of the meets and u can check em out for yourself in person, sound clips dont do it justice

I've had mine for about a year now and it's been great. Exhaust sounds great and has not given me any problems. BUT, I plan on selling my g very soon and plan on converting everything back to stock. Meaning, wheels, tires, exhaust, intake have to go. Any interested buyers?
