HELP! Which of my mods will work on an 05?

I have been considering selling my 2004 6MT and moving up to an 05 (few more hp, diff color) and was wondering if anyone knows if any of my mods will work with the revup -

Crawford Plenum, cats and headers
Stillen Cold air box (assuming this is a yes)

I have seen a couple threads where the plenum does not work on the 05, can anyone confirm?

Thanks!

According to the plenum shootout in Sport Z magazine, a plenum spacer (similar effect to the Crawford plenum) had little or no effect with a revup motor. A few other guys in here have said kind of the same thing.

The Motordyne MREV seems to be the only plenum mod that works with the revup motors.

Those motors also don't seem to like long tube CAIs, but the airbox should work okay. Perhaps others here have more personal experience.

The MD rev up spacer mod seems to do wonders for the 05. I would certainly go with that over the Crawford plenum. But why not just save the money you will spend on mods and the trade up and mod your 04? From what I understand the power difference in the 05 is only at the edge of the rpm limit and you will not feel the difference under normal driving. Actually from what i have read the 05 has less tq or hp (not sure which) under normal driving conditions do to the change in the motors. BUT if you go with the 05, I don't think you can beat the gains of the above mentioned bolt on mod with anything outside FI. Especially for the price. Good Luck

I think the revup motors have more top-end horsepower but less low-end hp and less torque.

I think thats what it is.

Also I meant the Motordyne MREV mod in my above post.

Trading up gives you a newer car, better interior, better engine (Subjective) as far as I know Revup respond to Mod better and that's even going FI. People get more HP with the same boost and same kit with the Revup. Also Revup has stronger internal at least that's what infiniti/Nissan said. You may loose the Pimp factor with Brembo but trade off is at least you don't worry about price maintenance and that brake dust. If you already have a custom wheel then there is no benefit on the OEM Forged 19's.

IF I were you and going to trade up, i'll rather wait and trade for the next generation. Nissan/Infiniti just registered the g37 so who knows it may come with a 3.7 engine and style will be different. I love my G but there's to many out there now.

I agree. If money isn't an issue then just buy something faster like the C6.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. The MREV is a given, and I was considering working out something to keep the Brembos (no dust btw, I upgraded to slotted rotors and Hawk pads ). As for trading up, I drive a lot of miles and have always planned on getting rid of my car while it still had decent warranty left. Right now I have 2 years and 17k miles to go. I can get what I owe, and can get a good deal on an 05 - so for around $3k I can go from a 2004 w/ 43k miles to an 05 with nicer interior, revup motor and under 15k miles. Not a bad trade, even if I decide to go for an 07 when they hit the market.
