Good question I'd like to know myself. Only thing holding me back is that I killed my torque wrench ('spensive!) so if I bought it I couldn't install it myself And if its REALLY worth it I REALLY want it

No it's not hard, just a lil time consuming. Make sure you take your time and have the right tools.

not really just make sure you read the instruction twice and you'll be fine. Be prepared to bend a lot coz you'll be leaning most of the time on the engine bay. It took me about 3 hrs to do since that was the first mod that I did on my engine (Except Z-Tube). If I had to do it again i can probably do it in less that 1 hr.

I'm doing it myself tomorrow. Just make sure you have an in/lb torque wrench. I borrowed one from someone I work with. After reading the instructions, it seems like not having one would make it a little more difficult. Plus you want to make sure all the bolts are tightened evenly.

It's a very simple and straight forward install. As everyone has said . . . Be sure to read over the instructions a few times to become familiar with what it is you are about to do. Have fun with your install and enjoy the MREV.

My suggestion: skip the torque wrench. Use a nut driver and a glove like the installation instructions describe. No (very low) possibility of breaking a bolt. I've read about people who break bolts even using an in/lb torque wrench because they didn't realize that the click they felt meant they were already at max torque, and they just kept turning. You don't have enough leverage with a nut driver to turn too hard.

In case you don't know, an nut driver is just a driver for a 1/4" socket that looks like a normal screwdriver.

Oh, and when you're bolting the plenum back on, make sure the rubber cup for the oil fill doesn't get caught in the seam.

Good luck. It's definitely worth it if you've got a Rev Up engine.

Curt

Good Post Curt......if he follows your instructions
it will be an easy install. Oh yea, don't rush and
don't attempt install without a torque wrench. Read
the instructions several times looking at your plenum
this will familiarize you with what's involved...easy!
Good Luck.....

Silly question but, where can I get a good in/lb torque wrench? I've looked at
Sears and they only have the ft/lb ones.

I installed the MREV mod myself and had no problems.
As long as you take your time and be aware where things go back you should be fine.
One note when putting on the pleanum pieces make sure at each stage your not crushing something since it will create a vacuum leak.
The most notorious being when putting back on the upper plenum and you have that rubber piece that goes around the oil opening.

Just installed mine today. It went pretty smooth. Its not that difficult and I'm not a mechanically inclined person at all. I went to Pep Boys and they had a in/lb torque wrench to rent for free. It just required a deposit that you get back when you return it. I definitely noticed the difference with the MREV. I'm very happy with it.
