I agree with your reasons to go with Stillen. One other thing,
Stillen dynos an 11 hp gain on the sedan.

Do you have an opinion as to why the stillen intake is much better than stock? It doesnt look all that different. If you put a K+N panel filter in the stock box it seems to me that the only diff would be the panel vs. cone filter.

The Stillen's cone filter also has the venturi ring inside of it.
The cone filter offers much more surface area for filtering.
The "Howl" it produces is destinctive. I replaced my stock
box with a flat K&N with the Stillen box. The response
is very noticable.

smcallis,
For over three months I ran with the Z air duct and K&N drop-in filter. It's a good combination and, because of that, I wasn't in sure I wanted to step up to the Stillen Hi-Flow Airbox. However, after reading the positive reviews from folks like mbarrad, cato and others, I decided to take the plunge.
Stillen's intake kit looks a lot like the stock system. But in fact, it's quite a bit different. The kit includes a heat shield, a velocity ring, and the usual large K&N conical air filter. This setup may be classified as a short ram cold air intake (CAI) system. It offers all the advantages of the Injen long ram CAI, without having the air filter near the pavement.
Both are great systems. Go with the one that "works" for you.

DaveO,
Guess I went for the Un-Stealthy look. Don't get me wrong, Stillens Great. I have their Exhaust. A buddy of mine has the same mods as me. Both G35c 6mt's Except he has the Stillen Intake instead of the Injen(like mine). We took both cars to Commerce drag strip outside of Atlanta, GA a few weeks ago, & out of all 6 runs the car w/ the Injen Intake was 2-4 mph faster & 2 tenths quicker in the Quarter mile. It was funny. He had better reaction times & would leave the line almost every time before me, & then I would catch & pass him 2/3's of the way down the track. In all fairness, his did'nt have the "Z" Tube at the time. We just installed the "Z" Tube on his a few days ago. He says he can't really feel any differance but the Intake noise is louder. We're going back to the strip this Friday Night, I'll let ya know how they match up again ...
Take-Care,
Rick

RugRatCoupe,
There's no doubt the Injen's a great system. It looks like you've proved that your car was substantially quicker/faster than your friends G on that day.
Stillen only claims a 5Hp increase for the Coupe (11Hp for the Sedan). Injen claims 10Hp gain.
I'm sure you're aware of the all the other possible variables. What other mods do both cars have? Did I spy a Nismo MAF Sensor with your Injen System? If so, does the other car have the same MAF Sensor? Can you tell us a little about it?
Look forward to the results of your next shootout.

Re: install my injen intake
remember, the injen replaces the tubing all the way to the plenum. The stillen still still uses the stock restrictor tube and I bet, the Z intake tube will add another 5hp.
