I just got my Forced Fed headers installed today and they make the same BOV type sound above 4k rpm sometimes like you described. I don't know if it's just in first gear though, since I've only driven about 30 miles with them. But it is pretty cool all the same. The headers also gave my car a nice little muted-agressive note to the exhaust that wasn't there before.

Could it be something to do with the metal that's used? Or possibly the removal of the heat shield that's causing the sound? I wouldn't think so, since others on here with headers said they didn't experience the same thing. Interesting...
