I think you might get a tow of negative responses for this question but Im gonna be nice.

I dont think anyone would want to have a piece of $2 PVC pipe under a hood of a $40k car. Is it doable? Yes, but i dont think you will have any takers.

As far as custom pipe, i could see a polished/color metal or chrome being done. I know i have seen a carbon fiber z-tube someware.

I didnt mean to be an a$$ or anything...I just thought you meant like pvc piping or something... If you can fabricate something yourself...more power to you!

No, but I did remove the box hanging off of my stock tube. I was installing a plenum and noticed my headers had burned a hole in the bottom, so I cut the thing off and used JB Weld to patch it up. Worked great.

it's definately possible. replicate the z tube is no biggs. however, the time/money spent into it exceeds the actual price of a z tube.

just save up for an intake.

Because the time it takes to buy a piece of 3" alum, do what's necessary to shape it, polish it etc... you would have well exceeded the $50 for a Z tube that fits perfect.

....bashing somebody for wanting to make a part that replaces an overpriced plastic tube isn't right. I think if he can do it, then he should do it. Of course if you plan to leave it unpainted pvc white then I'll add to the bashing. Good luck!
