Thats exactly the sound. I'm glad I'm not the only one. I was going crazy after I installed my MREV kit thinking there was a leak. I actually don't really like the noise its making but I guess I am going to have to live with it. Chalk it up to the price of more hp!

It's normal. When you install a new filter/z-tube you are losing the baffles that helps reduce intake noise. After market air filters have that whistling noise. Most stock engine intake are incased in a box to make it quite and prevent engine heat to contaminate the cool air. Changing the intake manifold will increase airflow and will cause a more noticeble whistle. Try taking you stock air box out and rev the motor. You engine will have a slight whistle bone stock. Put the box together and the whistle is there but is reduced.

i have the stillen cai and ztube and the sound is driving me to the point of reversing the mods. I heard it only gets wrse when you add the MREV. I think the whistle sounds cheapens the car and wreaks of defect.

To my knowledge there is no way to mitigate it; the sound is a naturally occuring artifact of the increase air flow. Ever take a blade of grass and blow air across it... makes a whistle sound... hold to the normal wwind and it doesnt.

Hope my 2cents helps.

Can someone post up a clip of this said "Whistling" sound. I don't have it. Many people seem to have this issue. The intake noise should be a bit louder with the intake mods. However, I am puzzled to this whistling (high pitched?) sound, which some are claiming to have. I am wondering if something is hung up or was inadvertently bent in the air stream.

mine made the noise with the stock intake system but just not as loud. My wife has my mp3 player/recorder at her office so it might be a day befoer I can capture and post it. To me it is like finger nails on the chalk board not the sound rather it is that annoying.
