UTR polished z-tube

Does anyone else have trouble making this **** fit and work properly? I was able to make it fit, but the car keeps throwing a CEL every other day. I don't think the bends on the tube are that great.. Maybe I got a defective one.. I got mine for MyNismo.com and they told me that I have the right one and that I might have a little trouble installing it, but damn, the fitment is so much ****tier than the OEM ztube.

Has anyone encounter the same problem?

Thanks,
Jeff

The first time I installed it, my car would suddenly, but smoothly shut off when I'm slowing down/braking.. then I look at my engine bay and find that the tube was not connected properly.. it came off. (This is how badly I had to try to make it fit that it came off.)

But now, it does not come off anymore and the car does not shut off.. but it throws a CEL every other day. I clear the CEL today and it'll throw another tomorrow.

I probably do have a leak, but I've tried to make this thing work.. I think the current setup is the best I can do.

I'll email the vendor and see what they can do. I honestly think I have the wrong tube or a defective one since the bends are closem but not exactly the same as the one pictured on the UTR website.

I think it's backwards...

The shorter end goes up near the plenum, and the longer end goes towards the ram air box...

Look at pix...

I've tried both ways.. No luck. Notice how the 2nd bend on my ztube is about 2/3 of the way down the tube while the one pictured on the UTR website is about 1/2 down..

Im emailing the vender the pictures now as we speak.

Thanks,
Jeff

Well, I've have my test pipes for several months without the CEL showing.. It didn't start showing until I used the UTR tube.. Lol. ..But It could be the test pipes, who knows.

I've had that exact intake setup (utr polished intake and jwt filter) since November. I installed it on Thanksgiving day and haven't had any problems. The only thing I can remember is that the fitment wasn't great...I got it to work, but it took alot of meticulous fine 'tuning'. Because the fitment wasn't perfect (not to mention the 3&1/2" scratch down the top) on mine, my only guess would be that you did indeed get a defective intake. I'd definitely follow up and contact utr. I remember reading other complaints regarding various utr products, so I've come under the impression that their products aren't quite up to par. Good luck in solving your dilema.
