MD Price hike!

Has anyone else noticed the price hike on all the MD parts. Or am I suffering from short term memory loss...

Looks like 25 to 30 dollar increase.

No, I noticed it as well. I don't think their products are that good.

When you consider the price of a set of premium headers, cats, etc., the price of the Motordyne products are relatively inexpensive when comparing independent dyno test results. The hobby of modding is not cheap by any means and is digested difficultly by many pocket books.

I am not arguing the merits of the system. For me with the price change I am going to put it off and shop the marketplace and ebay.

Hey go cheap on your products and join the others who complain about their skunk products not working correctly...the price increase is justified and not done just for no reason

Simply put...do it right the first time - or pay for it 2 or 3 times doing it wrong...when your not happy trying different solutions.

MD is really the only RIGHT way to do it 1 time.

Just picked up a new in box iso thermal for 230 shipped.

The intent of this thread is to get the fact out that teh price has changed; hopefully those capitualting over buying can find a supplier that has not changed their list price yet.

Good luck, happy shopping and merry modding.

Just wondering...did you ever wonder what caused the price increase...like anything else that is sold...production costs, supplies, and anything to do with the product itself can cause an increase...its not always just people trying to get a few extra bucks

It's not uncommon to start with a slightly-lower-than-optimal selling price in order to establish yourself and/or product within the marketplace. If the product does well, yet the market is pretty fixed in size, it's really easy to justify a price increase to get it to that optimal selling point.

IMO, a $30 increase on a $500+ item isn't a dealbreaker for most people looking to buy the MREV. You can usually find an item on Ebay or used around here and save some bucks, so there's always that option for people who would rather spend the time than the additional $30.

For those who would rather save time and money, say on a new NISMO Y-PIPE ($400+S/H) or a CRANK PULLEY & Gates BELTS ($100+S/H), let me know or check my thread in the Marketplace: Exhaust section. Sorry, but the RE Shifter is likely already spoken for.

what part of I am just trying to mak people aware of the price change so they can have a chance to expedite thier purchase making process.

Good grief already. I do not need a lesson in capitalism. Know that.

agreed as that is merely a 6% increase but the same 30bux on a 250 to 260 dollar item is about 11% increase.

The idea here is to make people aware of the move and titillate them to make a decision becasue it is only going to keep going up.

Now the new in box or used items will have a percieved increase in value so the slightly used market will be able to capitaliz on this move as well.

In fact I had just advised a g35driver member that was selling this product that MDs list price for an unused new in box 5/16 iso was priced too close to his asking price and suggested he lower the price.

The very next day/night the price was increased. The guy might have been able to get his asking price thusly reducing the loss margin. Heck if anything he might have been able to tun a 5 dollar profit.

The thread really does not apply to those less frugal than the rank and file citizen.

Due props for catching the increase and passing along the info. I'm sure there are a number of people on here who are currently scrambling to secure an MREV for themselves at the lower price.
