Does the MREV or Spacer mod work for the 06 AT coupe?

I have searched and read several posts and cannot figure out what mod works on the 06 AT engine for the coupe.

Can someone please help me out. Thanks.

Funny enough that you ask. Seems like everyone out there is asking the very same question.

From what I read on the last dyno posts and messages, the MREV v2 did have good torque ratings in the mid band, but where the horsepower should be peaking, the bottom literally fell out and perhaps a parachute popped out of the tag bracket. Still can't seem to find any REAL info on this product as it relates to the REVUP's.

Perhaps just the old spacer for now. Or was it that the old spacer and the MREV 1 or MREV + actually had gains everywhere, without the bottom falling out.

If is indeed that bad, then the Kenetix SSV is still showing 16HP gains. And it looks soooooooo schweeet!

06CoupeDaddy,

The dyno plot you saw was a MREV2 without the plenum spacer. On the revup, it clearly needs the plenum spacer for optimum gains.

There was a post made just a little while ago showing the MREV2 with the spacer on the REVUP. Check it out. Very large NA gains.

And for the non-REVUP engine, the combination of a spacer and MREV2 may make the car run too lean unless you have engine management. If you can't get a tune, stick with one or the other.

Tony

So for my 06 5AT i could order the MREV 2 and a 5/16 spacer and they will both be compatible with my car?

Yes, however, as Tony commented above with regard to the non RevUp engine. . . The 2 combined together may create a lean situation. That is when you have more parts of air mixing with a single part of fuel. For example: For your car a 13:1 AFR (air to fuel ratio) is much better than say a 15:1 AFR. More non RevUp test data may help answer this issue. keep in mind what other breathing/intake mods are being combined with the MREV 2 and spacer combo, as well.

Tony is noting that if you are able to tune your car, have at it and that you may wish to get the complete MREV 2 and spacer combo. If tuning is not desired for whatever reason(s), you might consider getting only the MREV 2 lower collector for the non RevUp engine, for the time being.

Tony

So if you have the Non-REVUP engine and don't have engine management, which one is better, spacer or MREV2?

Damn that sucks i was going to purchase the MREV2. Now i guess i can't...Well i could always try to sell my 5/6 spacer? Man this would be a hard choice to choose from the spacer or da MREV2.

Hmmm, still no straight answer, all I still see is more talk of REVUP and non-REVUP, which makes no sense to me.

Please just give me a simple answer, if I am getting an 06 with AT, what would give me the best gain, the spacer, the MREV+2-1 (or whatever), or both?

Or none at all?

They are very nearly equal in output.
You could do either and get nearly the same results.

Do MREV2.

Tony,
I was #116 on the MREV2 order and already have the 1/2" spacer with ISO Thermal Kit. My last dyno the AFR was 15:1
Sounds like maybe the MREV2 will lean out the AFR even more if the ECU can compensate.

15.1 is up there.
Your car sounds just like mine even when it was stock. I had to put on a emanage ultimate just to get it into normal range.

Then I started adding mods.
