Nismo headers

I have the opportunity to get a set of Nismo headers at a great price and wanted to know if there are any issues with install. Will the O2 sensors bolt up just fine, any need to extend the harness? How about the actual header install? What are the usual price for an install? The engine compartment looks pretty darn tight so I am not sure if I want to tackle this on my own.

yea def go with it if you get a good deal cause those things are damn expensive.......ive never read of any problems with them.........the install is pretty rugged tho, so you should prob have a shop do it even tho it is going to run you quite a bit, at the absolute best $400

The Nismo headers have had some workmanship isues, but if you've looked them over, and they look fine, you'll be OK. Don't let 99atlantic scare you, they are a good header, one of the few with a true collector. The 02 sensors will bolt up just fine. My Local Speed Shop in Tucson installed my Crawfords for $425.00. The Nismos are a bit easier. Good luck, and let us know how you make out.

I've got a set about ready for install. The craftsmanship seem fine, but they are some polished, show-piece... ...they look like very functional headers.

After my arrived and I inspected them, I found the smallest pinhole in one of the welds. It didn't look to go all the way through, but it was there. Made my choice to have them coated with JetHot2000 that much easier. Spend the money and get them coated. After the flat-black JetHot2000, the NISMO headers acutally look much nicer. Can't wait to get them installed with the cats, MREV+ and G-tube.

And please look at my sig. If you're keeping the stock cats, I've got a great deal on a NEW NISMO Y-pipe that would compliment those headers perfectly.

I hope your getting the headers for well under $900.

Crawford headers are better at $980.

It's starting to look like you have something negative to say about anything other than what you chose to go with. But I'm sure I was probably as biased in my opinion at your age.

After looking back at my post, I now realize what a hurry I was in (looks like a monkey typed it). In addition, I may not have properly conveyed my NIMSO header experience so far. They are not a polished showpiece. Instead, they look fairly raw but extremely functional and well-made. The 'pinhole' in the weld material is best described as a possible bubble that popped on the surface of the weld during welding (?). There is clearly an abundance of weld underneath that spot so it was of no real concern. There was only the one so I know it's a fluke. Again, they are very well-made, just not some polished/chromed wall-flower. I'm sure the same can be found on many headers or welds, but most people don't inspect them closely enough to see something the size of a pin-*****.

The 'pinhole' reference was made to illustrate the coverage ability of the JetHot2000 coating. This is especially usefull information for those buying cheap headers, if you want them to last, as it will greatly strengthen the entire unit (welds, flanges and pipes). IMO, it also made the rough/functional looking NISMO headers appear much nicer. The Jet Hot Sterling finish would make them look show-worthy, while the JetHot2000 is nice and stealthy.
