Wadaya think about installing 350duct/Stillen
Wadaya think about installing 350duct/Stillen
on a '04 coupe that was just picked up from the dealer.
Do you think the ECU would "learn" with the new setup or should an ECU reset be performed anyway.... Hmmmmm
Basically I want to know how the "virgin" ECU will adjust to the mod.

I know there are those who will argue the point, but after every mod. I've done, I've felt more power, and have never reset my ECU. The most power came with the Crawford Plenum, which I highly recommend. BTW, CrawfordZcar Service believes the ECU reset is a myth. As far as the 350 duct, I have that, but have chosen to use a K&N Drop-in rather than the Stillen. INHO, the K&N filter will give you as much power as the Stillen. They both draw from the same spot, and the intake size is the same. Again, IMO, save your money and get a Crawford.
I'm nothing, if not controversial.

Do you also get the whissle from just changing the stock filter to k@n ? For me that sound is priceless, the only thing making it better would be a blow off valve sound, ssszzz----puffffffff

Thanx for the insight lowrider.
I've read alot about the plenum in this forum.
My main concern is what effect the crawford would have in the warranty.
Also, if I have problems with the crawford down the road......kinda stuck. Although I've read that a stock plenum can be bought back from crawford for $200

Re: Wadaya think about installing 350duct/Stillen
Warranty, up to the dealer and your persuasive ability. You could get Infiniti Customer Service involved here if you needed to. That assumes something will go wrong with the engine. This engine is pretty bullet proof. I'm a member of a number of forums, and don't hear of many (I guess any problems related to the engine). The closest thing to a mechanical problem that I've read about are problems with the clutch and 6MT transmission, neither of which I have experienced. I guess, IMO, the gains outweigh the risks.

I experienced a night/day difference between the K&N drop in
filter vs. the $tealin Hi_Flow AirBox. I ran with the K&N drop in
filter for 4 months, even added the 350Z duct to that setup.
The performance/sound increase was amazing with the introduction
of the Stillen Hi-Flow AirBox. I could not be happier with it.
It is MUCH better than just the K&N flat filter.
