I do not know if my Mrev+ kit was installed correctly!

People are talking about big differences, and i am almost sure that something has gone wrong with my install. Can air leaks occur and because of that would i not be able to feel the power? However, if there were air leaks, wouldnt my engine knock like crazy? Man i get so jealous when i hear other people say they feel a lot of difference. What could have gone wrong!?

How long since you installed it?

it takes a few hard runs for your engine to "adapt." then you can feel it if you punch it when you're in 3rd and going 40MPH. lower the windows and you'll hear it also.

Do a search for "pedal reset" or disconnect your battery for 24hrs.

If installed correctly, you will make more power.

You should know right when you start the car after the MREV installation.

If you have leaks your idle will bounce.

just installed maybe a month ago. Also my idle does not bounce, meaning i dont have any leaks. In addition, if i used different bolts, but they fit and i dont have any leaks, would that cause a problem? When you guys mean difference, can you guys feel a considerable amount of pull?

when theres a leak it is very noticeable. Chances are, you have no leak.. your expectations were just too high :P

^^^What he said. The MREV does give you additional power but it's not like going FI. I think your expectations were a little bit too high.

disconnect the battery overnight and see if it was just the ecu being retarded

i know when i got my 1/2'' spacer, the first few times (before the thrill wore off, heh) the car moved a heck of a lot faster after ~4k RPM (before it alwyas felt like it hit a wall.....like it wasn't able to breath enough or something)

yeah do go thinking boosted power. You have to know where to look for it through the RPMs.

Also, reset your ECU and double check your bolts. Use an in lbs torque wrench and get set some loctite.

My bolts were under 60 in lbs just after less than a days worth of driving. You might not see much defelction in the RPM needle with the RPM bounce. I had to watch mine very closely but I could see it pop up and slip back down.

Keeps us posted.

here's a good test.

pull away froma dead stop. Use about 1/2 throttle. When you hit about 4000-4500 rpm, the car should take off. I get a huge torque jump in that range. It feels great. It is the same sensation as a turbo spooling up (obviuosly not as strong. though).

That was where I fwelt the difference with my mrev. also, it is much easier to pull away from a light cleanly.

^^ I still don't experience that. ^^ I do notice a slight increase at roughly 4500, but it's minor.

Man, this is becoming a common thread on this site and my350z.com.

When is someone actually going to do some real 1/4 mile testing to see if this thing is really benefical to the overall performance of the car?
