Anyone Diy Test Pipes?
Anyone Diy Test Pipes?
I was wondering if anyone has installed test pipes here. Just ordered UTR's wondering if I can install them myself. I have the stock exhaust on an 06 6MT if it matters. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

i would think its only like 8 bolts and two O2 sensors.. problem with the sensors... is that it would make your life a lot easier if you had a sensor socket (not only would it make it easier but less chance of you braking the sensor)... just have someone intsall them
10 bolts. 3 at the manifold side per pipe, 2 at the y-pipe side per pipe. You can also take off the crossbrace that holds them together first if you want. It was supereasy. Just hit the bolts with the liquid wrench/PB Blaster to loosen them up a bit. My pipes did not have flanges to reuse the stock crossbrace, so I lost a little more weight (Invidia non-resonated). Also, my pipes did not come with new exhaust gaskets so I reused the stockers.
The 02 sensors need that socket. You can do it without it, but risk damaging them and they are not cheap like spark plugs. The socket is all of $10 at your local auto store which is an 1/8th cheaper than a new o2 sensor.
I used some really long extensions from the engine bay to get the ones facing upwards and crawled around under the car for the rest. You will need to take off your intake, but thats about it on that side.
I used Rhino ramps since they are much safer than jackstands and give you plenty of room to access all of the bolts.
