There's many of header brands like Topspeed, Strup, stillen...

Then, Crawford Header is still top notched comparing to others?

Please give some opinions like crack, squeak, etc..

Many Posts here about Crawford Headers. And yes, they are the best header available for the "Z" and the "G". They have equal length 22" long tubes. No one elses's tubes are that long, or are equal length. This excludes Xerd, which is a long tube header, that doesn't allow for the fitment of a cat. The Crawfords also have a true collector, again no one else has that except Nismo, or it's clone BRM. Each header is handmade, and the gains are real. For me, it produced the best gains of all my bolt-ons.

The down sides are it's high price compared to the "budget" headers and the tough installation, the engine must be lifted slightly. Bit, again, IMO, you get what you pay for, and you get the best when you get Crawford.

I agree that the NISMO and Crawford are about the best option, if you can spend the money on them. You can find cheaper, but I wouldn't put them in the same class as the NISMO or Crawford headers.

There are other headers available that are a lot more expensive than either the NISMO or the Crawford... ...but I don't think anyone other than the manufacturer is running them. Doesn't someone make titanium headers for the G for about $5k?

 

I have DC Sports Ceramic. Had these on my old sedan for about 10K with no issues and had good power gains throughout rev band. I was so happy with them that I took them off when I sold car and put on my new coupe. They are very inexpensive compared to other stainless headers out there. Ceramic helps keep heat down. You don't need stainless. You can barely see headers from engine bay. I also believe the NISMO headers are manufactured by DC. I bought them for about $400 and had them installed for $400. Great bang for the buck NA mod. Crawford are probably the best, but are expensive, costly and a pain in the *** to install.

No one header is best. What's best depends on what you want because headers can be designed with different goals in mind. Crawfords seem to be the best in terms of peak hp. Others, like DC Sports, seem to focus on mid-range rpm.

I was told equal-length headers are best for peak hp while non-equal length are best for mid-range.

 

Go DC and you will not be dissappointed in the quality, cost and power. Remember install will cost a lot depending on shop. I have seen up $1,000 for install. My mechanic works on Porsche, Audi, BMW, Merc and VW. He thought install with the DC was relatively easy. He only charged me $400. So I got the headers and install for less than cost of Crawford's. I am not knocking Crawford. I have their V5 Plenum and Cats. Just trying to save you some cash.

 

Crawford does it throughout the power band. They put out more power than any other header in any part of the RPM range.

Please no comparisons between Nismo and DC - They are not the same header.

How is the gain of header installed with Vortech SC?

 

I think we all agree Crawford is the best choice. I don't think any of us are comparing Nismo and DC to them. It is just another choice and not a bad one.

 

I like my topspeed; if you want to spend $1000 for headers andt hen more to lift the engine to install them, go for me, but to me it wasn't worht the few extra hp gain. Besides, i just did headres for the sound ^_^
