Debadging.
I'm thinking about removing all my emblems in the rear. The thing is though, my car is an '04 with a production date almost 2yrs ago now. I'm worried about maybe some discoloration. How long did you guys wait to debadge yours? Am I too late?

took mine off the week after i bought it. You'll have a discoloration but you can try polishing after you get all the adhesive off. Polish until the paint blends and you should be good to go. If it is noticeable after it'll only be at certain angles.

I'm not sure I can help your situation (debadged the word Infiniti after 1 month w/o problems). However, if you or anyone else decides to debadge their Mt. Fuji emblem, PM me and I'll take it off your hands.

Well... kind of a long shot...
I bought an 02 MR2 and took the Toyota badge off about a month ago. Its black and it left a horrible shadow. I polished it and its alittle better... I just keep it dirty and no one notices... lol. Granted, mine was 4 years... what color is your car? I'm sure the lighter the color the less obvious any shadows will be.

I have a Brillinat Silver 2004 (28,000+ miles) when I debaged all a few months ago. Came out clean, no outlines, can't tell anything was there. Removed badges, cleaned off adhesive with WD40, then polish, wax and all was well. Also took off the stupid deal decal, same method, same result. Like the others said, polish well and it should work out.
The goo gone didn't start to eat the clear coat/paint? That stuff is like acid. LOL

didnt do a thing to mine. Paint looked perfect even before the wash and wax.
Goo-Gone is similar to WD-40, it's a petrolium product. Goo-Gone has "PETROLEUM NAPHTHA" and citrus oil, WD-40 has "STODDARD SOLVENT" (60%-70%) and "MINERAL OIL, PETROLEUM DISTILLATE, SOLVENT DEWAXED (MILD), HEAVY PARAFFINIC/PETROLEUM LUBE OIL" (15%-25%).
Neither one is or has "acid" as that would cause more harm than good for their intended purpose, though I wouldn't recommend leaving WD-40 on a painted surface for any length of time.
Acetone, also not an acid, is another good way to remove adhesives. It breaks down the adhesive and then wipes away clean, but it will also strip wax, etc.
To the original poster, I removed the "INFINITI" from the back of my '04 desert platinum sedan tonight using dental floss and WD-40, a pass with mild rubbing compound and two coats of wax. So far it looks great, but tomorrow in the daylight will be the real test.
