Custom 3M Clear Bra

I know what you're thinking... this horse has been beat to death. However, I have a unique quesion.

I was wanting to add a Gialla Grill to my coupe and was wanting to get this part clear bra'd before I mounted it (I have the complete kit on the rest of my car). My guy quoted me a price of $75 which is about the price of painting it! Has anyone tried to clear bra a small part by themselves? I was thinking about buying a small piece from ebay and attempting to do it myself. I'm worried about all the angles and curves. What's nice is that it will be a separate piece that I can bring inside and work at my own pace. I guess I should start with a large piece and cut a hole in the middle. Then I can wrap it around the grill as I go around it. I may have to cut some slits so that it won't overlap.

Am I being too cheap? Should I just pay it to get it done and be done with it?

I would pay and be done with it.

How many quotes have you gotten to do it? Try shopping around a bit for a better price before you give it to them to do. If you try to do it be very careful because if you try to lift a part of the bra to position it when it starts to dry you can lift the paint as well.

I'm gonna do that when I get mine painted, might as well pay my guy to clear bra it before it get's installed. With my luck I'd get a chip on the way to his place if I installed it first with no protection. I say just pay the man...
