What to do with engine cover and spacer?

I have the MRev mod from Motordyne, and the engine cover rubs on the driver's side against the bottom of the hood. I was going to paint the engine cover, but that paint would be gone in no time. Any thought's on how to dress up the engine bay with this problem? I don't know if removing the hood liner would help as it isn't very thick and I'm not wild about those half covers. That would really only leave the option of cutting out the section that rubs, or a different hood. If anyone has tackled this problem, pics would be great.

Hmmm . . . What size spacer do you get with the MREV? The 5/16" should allow for the engine cover to clear. You might try removing the 4 rubber grommets, which are located under the engine cover. That will give you between an 1/8" to 3/16" of additional clearance.

^It took me a while to get back to this post, but thanks for this suggestion. It seems that the Driver's side bolt nearest the firewall was not set properly and therfore not holding the cover down. I took the rubber grommets out anyway. Now to repaint the areas that rubbed.
