front bumper damage W/PIX

Ok so i was backing up today on this dirt road and i guess i caught the bumper on a dirt bump cuz i heard it scratch...ne wayz i went to the dealer and they pointed me to a body shop and the dude there told me it was gonna be around $900 dlls!! to replace it. He told me if i could get my own out of the box bumper from the dealer he'd only charge me around $400 to put it on. I think thats a rip off $900 for a bumper? Does that even sound right? Does anyone have a stock 03 coupe bumper they could sell and i can probly take it to a diff. shop and have them install it. How much are the bumpers anyways?? thx in advance ya'll!

Seems a little expensive. A body shop could probably get you a new OEM bumper, paint, and install it for less than $600. Might want to check up on the price of the part though, that could make a big difference.

Find a used front bumber, and install it yourself.

Run a search and you will see it's not that bad to remove/install yourself!

Sorry to see what happened...

$900 is about right if that includes painting it. Usually paint matching alone at a reputable body shop costs around $400. Be careful though, because I went to the dealer recommended body shop and got more damage than what I walked in with. Do some research before you pick a shop.

You get what you pay for...believe me I've experienced this several times, especially when it comes to paint quality and matching.

Also, I'm sure the bumper costs a lot...just look at how much the front lip spoiler costs...on a group buy I got it for over $300...wouldn't surprise me if the bumper is a couple hundred more.

Now about this "nismo" bumper, if i'm gonna be paying for a new bumper im open to some diff ones if they're aorund the same price

Finding bumper from a junk yard may save you a few bucks, but they are hardly in an ready-2-install condition. Being a front bumper, rock chips & scrapes going up steep drive way are common, most likely need to be repair & repainted. If you can help it, make sure the junkyard bumper hasn't been repainted already.

You'll still save a few bucks, just know what you're in for. BTW are you in socal?
