2006 G35 Coupe Bumper..
Heres how we're planning to do it.. no its not going to look like ur traditional "civic splitter" where the carbon piece resembles a piece of cardboard -__-.. the carbon is going to wrap the splittler so it actually has a round lip to it.. so no sharp 90degree edges.. it'll be alot thicker (stronger) vs a regular splitter.. the rods will be optional.. if you choose to buy them go ahead.. these splitters are not going to be adjustable so you can place the rods anywhere.. we're trying to make the edge sit FLUSH with the bumper - those of you with 06 knows that the bumper has a round edge to it.. this way it'll go even with a set of wide (19x9.5") rims or any aftermarket side skirt while looking good even on stock wheels.. the edges are going to wrap around the front bumper so drilling shouldnt even be required.. we're going to try to use some of the OEM holes (but we doubt that a bit) but yeah we'll see how it goes.. at most is some double side tape and 2-3 screws at the bottom.. so in the end this should be a lip/splitter type of deal.. if anyones seen the M3 lip with the rods.. i'm trying to do something like that..

now as for the very front.. iono what imma do.. yes the 06 bumper dips up but it may look kinda weird if we keep the hole there cause the lip wraps around the edges of the bumper might create an illusion of a big gap.. so i think the gaps gona end up getting filled by the splitter.. so it'll thicken towards the middle.

heres the down side.. i'm pretty mcuh donating my front bumper to them for all test fitting and stuff.. but i need my TS to come in first (in 2 weeks) and we est about 2 weeks to create our frist demo.. and we'll get a better idea (through u guys) on how the lip will be designed.. as well as pricing.. right now we're gona stick strictly to carbon because it looks SICK in carbon.. and it'll be ment for the 2 tone look.. but a glass version might be avliable later.. those of u worrying about scratching.. if u dont scratch with the OEM bumper u probably wont hit the lip.. cause the 06 bumper is very round so la la la yeah.. lol

anyways for everyone else..
i'm going to try to get a "universal" g35 splitter made for us.. but thats going to be after i finish the 06 bumper.. cause if we make the 06 G lip a "universal" one its gona look kinda.. cheap.. well its gona look a little weird just because the 06 is has a very round edge while all the aftermarket bumpers, 03-05 lips, and even the 03-05 bumpers ave a sharper edge...

What material will it be underneath? Isn't part of this mod no only because it looks sick as hell but to protect the bottom portion of the bumpers from scraping?

well it started with the idea of a splitter but we ended up wanting to make a lip specifically for the 06 coupe bumper.. I dont know if any of you have seen the M3's carbon lip with the rods.. i'll upload a pix when i get home but thats the idea i'm going at..

Its going to be fiberglass with carbon wrapped.. up to you guys if you want to paint over the carbon or not

 

so this will only work w/ the 06s?? i skimmed the thread...am interested but will it work on an 04??

 

we were gona try to make a universal splitter for the G Coupes.. but we're now gona make a lip style splitter specifically for the 06 front bumpers.. after that we'll work on a universal splitter that'll work for all G35 Coupes.. including after market bumpers and lips
