Paint Question.

I have an '05 Obsidian Black exterior. What brand of paint did Infiniti use?

I got into an accident recently and I am supposed to meet the adjuster hopefully at my collision shop very soon. So I don't want him or the shop pulling a fast one on me. As it is I am pushing for a new panel.

I don't believe there is any particular "brand" of paint. They just reference the color number and mix accordingly. Could be DuPont, could be something else. Body shops are very good at matching factory paint complete with clearcoat. Doesn't hurt to ask.

Go with a body shop recommended by your Infiniti dealer.

Thanks. I am trying to push to get Dupont, PPG or Sherwin Williams. The collision shop was recommended by Infiniti. I like to be up and ahead of these guys. I have no problem working on cars, but body and transmission I don't touch.

Can you explain why you need those specific paints?

I have a couple things done in Dupont and one in PPG. PPG seems to coat a little better.
