Wiper problem

Hey everyone

I hope this is the right forum for the post....I recently ran into a problem where my wipers (2003 G35 Sedan) "slam down" too far into the hood and then "slam up" too far into the body next to the windshield.

Has anyone else run into this? Tampa Infiniti (very helpful always) thought that it may be the linkage in the wiper module, around $150 to replace, plus $150 in labor. I am at 63,000 so out of warranty (I am now in Atlanta and haven't dealt with them up here yet, so to try and sneak in an extra 3000 above the warranty period with some smooth talking probably won't work).

Anyway, just thought maybe someone had run into this problem. It appens all the time, regardless of speed, delay, etc.

Thanks
Mike

If anyone cares, I'll give this update in case you run into the same thing. It turns out there are these small teflon type bearings and linkage inside the wiper arm assembly. Everything was worn out. They had to replace the wiper motor and linkage.

Infiniti of Roswell was really cool about it, and even though the car was right at 64,000 miles and out of warranty, worked with me on the price. I even called Infiniti of North America to see if they would help me out warranty wise since I have had all my services done at Infiniti of Tampa, and they are being good about it. Just thought I would give some "props" to Infiniti of Roswell, GA and Infiniti of Tampa, FL and Infiniti of North America for helping me out on a $600+ problem post-warranty period. Often you hear about customer service horror stories, but I thought I'd throw this good story in the mix.
