People are saying that because the experiences have varied greatly depending on who you ask. I bought the replica NISMO bumper and it turned out great. Others have had a terrible experience because either the bumper arrived damaged or because it was defective. They will supply a new bumper to you if it is not to your liking but you will need to pay for shipping $$$$. I know of at least 5 people on the boards who have not been able to install the bumper either because it was made improperly or because it was too rough for the bodyshop to install.

NOW THAT BEING SAID.

The other side of the coin is that there are many people like me who are totally thrilled with the product and I am very glad I bought the urethane product over the fiberglass one. However, I kind of knew what I was getting into. The finish on the bumper is really rough and requires a good installer who is comfortable doing custom work. If you have that, then you are good to go. Search under my name and you can will find pictures of my install along with about 4 other threads like this where people debate the pros and cons of the automotivemods product and quality.
