Badge removal
Badge removal
Has anyone tried removing the "G35" badge from the trunk
lid? I'd like to create a more symmetric and subdued finish
but don't want to scratch my paint or leave grommet holes
on the metal.

Re: Badge removal
If you search the posts below. 2 people on this board have removed the INFINITI emblem and the G35 one.
I had a chance to see Dyenboy's car without the emblem he did a nice job and it looks clean
Maybe he'll post on here

Re: Badge removal
It's probably just glued on. If it is, take a hair dryer to it and get it warm. That will soften the glue. Then use some fishing line between the badge and the paint. Use an adhesive remover like Goo Gone or alchohol to remove the residual gule.

Re: Badge removal
i've removed mine. i removed the g35, and the inifiniti badging. i left the emblem though. check out pics here

a hair dryer helps soften the glue back there. dental floss works well to easily pull it off. undu works well to take the residue off. i'd hesitate to use nail polish. that stuff is potent and might damage the paint if you're not careful. in any case, whatever you use, wash the area and polish it right away. hth.

Use a old credit card and wedge it underneath the emblem. To put it back on, use 3M tape adhesive and a good eye! That's how I've done it before. I will have onxy emblems for the G by next week, if anyone is interested e-mail me jtesensky@vtaig.com or visit www.infinitipartsusa.com.
Re: Badge removal
THANKS to everyone for the help! This morning I used a hairdryer
and dental floss to separate the G35 badge from the rear trunk. It
didn't take very long at all. Then about 15 minutes of carefully using
the hairdryer, some WD-40 and a terry-cloth towel and all the glue
gum was removed - it's as if it was never there!
This list rocks - thanks again!

putting skyline enblems require ordering the rear square plastic, and the JDM front grill.
the 2003.5 model will be easier, since there is no square with infiniti letters embedded on.
