So, I got a couple of tailight harnesses from Chad and retroed the USDM-spec 168 bulbs into the outer compartments of the JDM tailight housings. Was pretty easy. Just drill a 5/8" hole where indicated on the housings and use a utility knife to notch out the cutouts for the socket tabs. I got some harnesses from a 2004 coupe since a 168 socket is the same no matter what year car. I could have just gotten one harness since there are two 168 sockets per harness. I wired it like a modified side marker so it's on with the parking lights, flashes in unison with the turn signal during the day, and flashes alternately with the turn signal at night. Didn't take any pics. Sorry.

if anyone still cares to do this, here's some pics of what he is talking about (these are from an '04 JDM tail):

i used a dremel to cut the notches out and taper down the edges so it twists in easily. just like stock

it's like a bastard/hybrid JDM/USDM light! it really only took about 5 minutes a piece. i just didn't want to have that extra light hanging around, literally.
