Glovebox light stays on?

I searched the forum, but couldn't find any info. Do you guys know if the glovebox light is supposed to stay on even though it's closed? I noticed it last night when driving. There's a crack, and light's coming through.

Speaking of which, does anyone else have a crack where the glovebox meets the dash?

Thanks.

Whoops, just learned how to use the advanced search on the forum (boolean search works well).

Guess it is normal:

search function = my friend

I saw this the first night I drove my G home. Thought I had a problem with my car and it was driving me nuts. They shoulda put a switch there to turn the bulb off when the glovebox is closed. I sit at an angle where the crack of light peeking through is at its widest.

Time for the home depot weather stripping fix.

That light and the ashtray light stay on.

2 great sources for low amperage switched power.

Yah, you can easily disconnect it while servicing your in-cabin air filter. I doubt you'd want to pay the dealer to do such a simple thing.. but who knows

i think it only goes on when you turn on your headlights. try opening the glove compartment with the headlights off then turn the headlights on.

try reading this https://g35driver.com/forums/tsb-technical-bulletins/135886-glove-box-gap.html
dealers who tell you "their sorry" should be reported to infiniti.
