Trunk/Spoiler damage help - Bodyshop guys, please chime in!

I recently decided to swap trunks with another member on the forum. He has an 03-05 OEM spoiler and I have an 06 Replica spoiler. He shipped his trunk to me via Greyhound, and they jacked it up, denting the trunk lid, and cracking part of the spoiler. I got a ridiculously high estimate for the damage at around $1100 from a local body shop. Can you guys let me know what you think this damage should cost to fix? Also, if you know of any reputable/reasonably priced body shops around northern california, please let me know.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

1100 was his "insurance quote" because I told him we wanted the quote to claim Greyhound. The guy said his real price would be significantly lower than that, but I just want to know realistically about how much it should cost to fix this damage.

It's going to be expensive to fix. Just have Greyhound pay for it, then who really cares how much it costs, as long as its a good job and its not out of your pocket.

But I would estimate $5-800 probably to fix it. Personally I would just get brand new trunk and wing and paint.

Problem is it was only insured for $300, so that will be the max they pay out, if anything.

off the topic, but your couch... you get them at macys? i think i have the same exact color for the love seat and sofa for my family room. hahaha

anyway, try getting a quote from another body shop. but, it might be cheaper to get a new trunk and spoiler. my question is, who decided to insure it for $300.

Lol..I got my couch at a furniture store in Sacramento, I forget which one though.

I am going to try to get a few more quotes from different body shops next week, but I don't have a lot of time to do it. The member on the forum who shipped it to me insured it for $300. I'm working with him to try to get everything to work out, or else he may be out a lot of money. I guess hindsight is always 20/20.

Hmm thats a tough one. The spoiler is cake but the deck lid is something else. It will need to be installed and pulled out. This is going to take time to line up. Best guess is 700.00

Note to self: Only ship bodies via Greyhound.

I'd think it could be done for $400 or so. Depends on where you go.

This is definitely a case of "you get what you pay for..." only cost about $28 for him to ship this thing from Texas to Cali (only took 2 days).

Anyway, still looking for a decent body shop in Sac, so if anyone knows of one please let me know.
