Not a fan of the clearance strip

I didnt like the clearance strip on our headlights from day 1, so i took the bulb out of it. Now im thinking about painting the inside of my headlights matte black and painting over the strip to make it look like cleaner.
What you guys think about that look?

i thought about it.. but its gonna cost way more and its not worth it to me. Plus i wanna go for the white/black theme.
