Mounting UTR Medium spoiler with 3m tape

Just got the sweeeet spoiler and supplied 3m tape (two strips). Just wanted to know if these strips are enough to hold the spoiler down?

the heat is alot here in the summer so thats got me worried.

Thanks,
Clint

You should be fine. Just make sure you have a clean surface to work with and remove any wax you may have on the area where the tape will be applied.

Check out my first photo in thread #28: https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sedan-v35-2003-06/114741-sedan-owners-ut-medium-rear-spoilero.html

I installed the tape all the way around (they gave me enough to cut & fit on the ends). Use some rubbing alcohol to clean the bottom of the spoiler & the trunk surface to get it nice & clean before installing.

Good luck!

Yes, it needs to be malleable/flexible for the install, so where you live, shouldn't be an issue. I did a dry run first w/out the tape and started at the end. Yes, it is slightly off (end to end), and that's because I started the install like 1/8" from the side of the trunk lid....well that left me 1/8" off on the other end....I don't even notice it day to day.

I've had mine for 3 years on the coupe. You'll be fine AS LONG AS you tape down that sucker in warm weather. If the temps in your area are bellow 65 hold off with the installation or it will start detaching in the corners.

Before you install it, put the car in the sun for 30-60 minutes and let the trunk lid warm up. Also, if you have a heat gun, briefly (don't fry the stickers) run it across the strips to warm them up to make them a bit gooey. Once the spoiler is on (use a friend for that DON'T attempt to install it on your own or you'll get it crooked), put the car back in the shade, and let the glue cool down and harden on the trunk.

Good luck.

Nope. Had a local body shop paint it for me.
