idk i guess it looks nice, but CF is appealing to me because the strength while being light.

in ur case, its not used correctly to provide strength..... there goes that angle

and in ur case, its not used properly to be light..... there goes that angle

so really its just for looks which impresses some but not me. idk.. i wouldnt make a heavy car lighter... id put like Carbon clamshells on an elise to make an already light car even lighter.

sooo true. Good job on keeping us posted. Also if you don't mind me asking what brought you to start this project? Did you get into an accident or something?

Thanks.. But there was NO No Accident on this car. I really have high hopes on building this car for show. I only planned to get the car painted since DG was too common now and when you go to shows they don't even glanced back to your car. After deciding about the paint, I talked to the bodyshop and tadda.... they approved my sponsorship with them. And they like the carbon fiber roof Idea on my G. So there it goes.

I think UTR offers a CF lip spoiler. I'm not sure about the OEM M3 one on the coupe, I know it fits the sedan perfect.

I would do a roof spoiler too, I have been very happy with mine.

^ that's the one... because the coupe trunk curves downwards on both sides.

M3 is flat.

UnlimitedTuning.com

I don't see any CF ones on there now.
Guess you could always do a layer over it too!!

damn.. looking good! question though, as for the overlay, did the shop wrap the cloth to the underside of the trunk as well? may leave some sort of adhesion and grip to the trunk as flanges instead of just having the whole thing overlayed. regardless... kudos for a unique modification!

yeah, i have a lot of 2x2 twill carbon and 100 lbs of E2 fiberglass and a vacuum oil vane pump just sitting in my closet right now. it's calling my name very slowly...

i'm waiting for my car to be fixed so i can start on a vacuum/infusion composites project. hehe... don't mind the mess.
