how to remove rear quarter panels?

help this noobie out plz!

i have no clue how the rear quarter panels are fixed into place. can they be removed by simply "unbolting" off the unibody like the fenders and such? or... are they welded and actually part of the unibody?

thanks in advance!

Yeah it really suxs! You first have to remove the rear window and then drill out all the pinch welds and rivets. Im doing that project of replacing the drive side quarter panel next week.

Unless you are a skilled bodyman I highly would not recomend attempting to do this. Removing a quater panel requires shaving the skin off of the quarter and unwelding the quarters from the frame.

how much would new quarter panels cost?

i want to try out a widebody project by replacing the whole rear quarter, but i wouldn't want to go through the hassle of welding/riveting/drilling just to take them off. yikes!
