Anyone else disappointed in the Obsidian (black) paint?
I checked out an Obsidian G35S today and I was disappointed when I walked up to it. It looks REALLY good in the pictures that I've seen in the gallery, but up close, it looks cheap.
I'm coming from a Carbon Gray Pearl Accord which IMO looks better, maybe because it has that sparkly effect, it's not a solid color.
I should've walked around and looked at the Blue Slate color which doesn't appear to be a solid color.

BO is a fantastic color on the G. It's a two-stage solid, so don't expect it to be a metallic. The Blue Slate is a Pearl Metallic so you might like that a little better.
I have had a number of blac cars over the past few years and OB is the best black I have had. Black is deep and nad has a mirror finish when detailed.
Metallic black I had on my S60R always seemed a bit dead to me. To each their own.

GC, what does 'two stage metallic', 'three stage metallic' etc. mean? Multiple layers of different kinds of paint?

Metallic paint contains less color pigments than regular paint, but it has aluminum particles that reflect the light rays before they reach the primer, and it makes the light reflect at different angles.
