I want to put a vertical door kit on my G, but don't know what company makes a kit for them. I know Decah makes a kit for a 350z, but has anyone seen pictures, or heard of anywhere that will put them on? Any help would be great, or pictures. Thanks again.

theres a place here in tampa that does it. but the bad thing is that inorder to put the doors on correctly the installer has to take the whole fender off as i just found out today. and i dont think i would want them to do that. but the would look pretty sick. the owner of the shop has them on his 350z. i think he said that they will fit the g35 but not quite sure. ask omi about it he knows a little more on the subject.

how will that work with our windows? wont it break the glass i mean arnt the door desighned only to open out words and then the window to rol all the way up. i would assume you would have to work around that some how?

Most of the newer kits, including the 350z kit, let you open the door out about a foot or two and then you can lift it up. So if you want them for show you have them but you don't have to use them on a regular basis.

looks reasonable. I'd consider getting one myself. however I don't think I can live with how you have to gently ease the door open/close. and how you have to squeeze yourself into the car at an awkward angle... =(

 

Mrtwisted on the my350z board was installing a vertical set of lambo doors on his z car about three weeks ago. They should all be done and you might go to that board and pm him and find out how he likes it, what it cost etc.

There is a company in Ontario, CA. that makes lambo style doors and offers custom applications if they receive an order for 10+ kits. They can be contacted at http://www.verticaldoors.com/v2/default.asp.

 

The price generally hovers around $2K (not including installation). I've seen one in person (350Z) and it looked really slick. However, the ergonomics of getting in and out were considerably worse. The door, even when fully raised, is still right in your face when you get in, making you kind of slide forward to get in instead of a direct normal entry from the side. They look like lambo doors, but don't go nearly as vertical so they are much more in your way. Getting out has all the same issues. They also open laterally a bit first, to allow all the stock door mechanisms to operate normally. As such, they don't completely eliminate side clearance issues like true scissor doors.

I still think they look cool, but I'd have to get used to getting in and out in a new (more difficult) way.
