got rear ended... new bumper suggestions..

alright... so less than a week wiht my new car, my friend accidentally rear-ended me.. so hes covering the cost to repair it... the taillights are also slightly pushed in, but they dont seemed damaged, so we're hoping its only a bumper problem.. we'll be getting an estimate at a body shop monday..

so now.. my main question is.. what will a typical body shop charge for a stock bumper? or should i get an aftermarket bumper and have them put that on insead?

but.. if it has to be cheaper than what the stock one would cost at a body shop...

which to doo...

i think 900 is what they charged my insurance for my new rear bumper. it depends on how much damage is underneath the bumper cover.

he was probably accelerating at like 5-8mph.. the outside seems all bent in, which caused the tail lights to shift a bit... damage doestn seem extensive, the paint barely even cracked near the impressions.. so maybe it wont cost so much.. i hope

It's okay, I got rear ended at a red light a week and a half after I got my car too The person who hit me paid for the damages, and the body shop charged around 900 also for a new bumper cover. Not sure if it helps

we dont want his insurance to go up and we dont want it to go on my VIN record... we've been friends for like 9 yrs, so he'll deal with it all

yeah, after we get a quote on how much it costs, we'll see if its better to get an oem or aftermarket bumper..

know of any good sites to buy just the rear bumper? in urethane, not fiberglass
