how to smoke tail lights?

Hello,

I did a search but couldnt find anything specific: what's the best way to smoke out tail lights? it's just a film that goes over the lights, right? I saw that ebay and other sellers sell the film for $30, is this the real deal? can i put it on accurately myself?

will a tint shop do this?

Since you're from Norcal, I would look up Kartoyz in San Jose. They actually paint them.
