Clear Bra removal
I had the 3M Clear Bra removed and replaced this weekend. The poor guy that took it off spent 2 hours getting the old one off. I was never really satisfied with the first one.
What impressed me was the color under the clear bra. It was a perfect match to the unprotected area of the hood. So much for paint fade, etc. My car is red as well.
The new one is still a bitch to put on with the complex curves at the front edges of the hood. He did the mirrors which were not done before and did a strip on the back of the doors.

I just had the 3M removed from my front bumper to have it repainted and a new 3M installed due to dealer damage. I was told it took the body guy a good part of the day to remove the old one. It's not an easy job. However, now that my bumper has been repainted and the new bra installed, it looks like it did 4 years ago when it was new.

Removing clear bras is not that difficult. I have to replace them all of the time since I am in the industry. I have customers come in that want to get better film installed than their first one so I have gotten pretty proficient at removing them. Heat the film up with a hiar dryer. Pull the film so that it pulls at a 90 degree angle to the surface. This really helps minimize the amount of adhesive left on the car. Once its off go over it with 3M adhesive remover. Most films come off very easily. 3M on the other hand leaves the most adhesive and is tough to get off.
