Klumzees NISMO front.....How much to paint?

I took my bumper to a shop yesterday to get a quote.

Guy quoted me $380 + and he guaranteed the work for as long as bumper on the car.

I thought that was a little high for just painting the bumper. But he started saying that the material that the bumper made out of will leak through the paint and make it darker, so they have to use some funky sealant in order for it not to happen.

So I was wondering if those of you that got the bumper already could share some of your experience with me.

Ho much did you pay for the paint job?
How is it working out for you.......is the bumper getting any darker, did you have to use any sealants to seal the bumper?

does that include prep and install? if so, that's a good deal if they take their time to make it fit almost perfect.

It's probably because it's in IP, I keep hearing on how it costs alot more to paint an IP part than any other color

I got a couple of uncle/cousins that are in painting business. So I'm thinking If I should prep it and prime it my self and let them paint it.

Any of you did work your self?
Any luck with it, regrets?

can't your uncle/cousins hook you up on both prep/paint if they are in the business?

the problem with prepping it yourself is that the body shop won't guarantee their work if any bubbles mysteriously arise.

the shop i took it to does an unbelievable job from what I've seen. I wanted it done perfect as well, and I'm guessing it would be even higher but I was referred there by a friend so I guess i got a good price. But you don't wanna half a$$ painting your car.

just remember you get what you pay for. if you are getting quoted high by a reputable shop then most likely your cars body is gonna come out hawt, but in other cases you never know. i mean just save the extra $ and get the time well spent on it, we dont roll is 12k cars do we?
