Carbon Fiber

Just trying to see how much interest there would be in getting a carbon fiber roof made for the coupe, similar to the bmw m models. need about twenty buyers for seibon to start fabricating a piece. Should lower center of gravity, or just look cool.

by taking weight out of the roof the highest point the place that has they most mass will be lower in the car. Your going after having all the weight as low as you can. if that helps

Actually this is a project I'm going into by myself now. j-ondemand.com is right about what I'm trying to accomplish. But I'm going in a totally new direction. My friend owns a custom body shop and has agreed to help me with my project of designing a chop top g35. For those of you who do not know, I'm going to lower and lighten the entire upper half of my car, try to push my engine back, and drop the car about an inch and a half. I never liked how high the g35 was and want it to look more exotic. Since I track pretty often, this is something I'm going to try to get done. In the end, hoping for a lighter, better handling car.

So Seibon would be making this for sure? Can you get CarbonLTD to chime in on this since they are one of our main Site Seibon Sponsors. I'm interested if they have it with the Sun Roof Cutout.

cost? eta? i assume it'll just be another roof overlay? what kind of weaves does seibon typically use? will it sit perfectly flush? for roofs with or without sunroofs?

Seibon can make anything under the moon if given enough money in advance. They would want all 20 order paid in full, then a few months wait while they make a mold and pieces.

Just to give a rough idea for costs Seibons new 350z roof MSRP is $1200....

On a lighter note, Mastergrade is working on pillars, roof, and rear diffuser as we speak.

Is it an actual roof or is it just an overlay?

It will be an overlay. I dont know of any shop who would chop the roof off a car and replace it with carbon fiber.

Mastergrade has not figured out the sunroof yet, I believe it will be non-sunroof only.
