Upgraded 2004 headlights to 2006 with drivers signal issue...
Hello,
I have researched and can't find anything regarding my problem, hopefully one of the lighting guru's can give me some ideas on what to do.
I changed out my lights yesterday, the 2006 lights came complete with all the bulbs. It went pretty smoothly and everything worked as testing in my garage.
Here's the problem: My drivers side turn signal doesn't want to to work when the car is driving and does the hyper flash. I figured the bulb burned out and was just bad luck. I went and purchased 2 new GE 7440 bulbs from Canadian Tire and took it back to the garage to change it... Sure enough the bulb flashes no problem with the car sitting in my garage, with it running or not. I tested it for about 10 minutes and thought well maybe its sorted itself out... Take it for a drive and it hyperflashes again. Anyone have any ideas? It would sound like a wiring problem, but the only thing i am sure of is that the main harness is connected and snapped in good. It seems like a waste of time to change the bulb or is it? I don't want to rip the whole bumper off again unless absolutely necessary so hopefully someone has an idea what route to take...
Anyone want to take a shot at this?

To be honest it didn't say if they were or not, how would one tell the difference between recalled and already fixed and how would it affect my current issue? I bought them off a guy in Ottawa that just apparently pulled them off a car.

No sir, these were Canadian 2006 lights put into a Canadian 2004 6mt. I understood i had to rewire USA lights for my Canadian car and vice versa.. Did I miss something that would cause this??

At least what your telling me is thats why I haven't had one of the better known lighting 'gurus' chime in with a possible solution or idea what to check, and am going to be stuck with this.... Was wondering why something seemingly so simple has so far gotten zero answers or support.

I can only speak for myself, but I warned everyone of the possible issues the recalled headlights would cause because of the unknown condition, but no one listeded because they wanted to do it the cheap way. I did my part by making a DIY for aiming so at least people weren't blinding everyone else on the road and being a major safety hazzard, but for other issues you are on your own. My advice, reinstall your stock headlights and buy new canadian spec projectors so you are sure everything is okay.

I read your thread/DIY on how to aim the lights and appreciate it very much,
actually printed it along with the one on installing the 06's. The part I missed is how to actually tell recall from non recall lights.
I thought that was in Dec/06 or so.. I honestly didn't know until you mentioned it that the recall involved a completely new setup, because all I have read are all the complaints on re-aimed lights and figured thats just what they did "re-aim". (doh)
Unfortunately I can't afford to eat the $300+US I just paid Friday for these and another 700$ for 'brand new' ones... I have just spent over 1500$ on tires in the last month since I bought the car if you know what I mean..so its either somebodies kind heart helps a poor bastard out or not I guess, because I simply have no means to do as you suggest at this time. Wow i just got a sick feeling in my stomach.....

that seems very strange. I purcahsed mine on ebay but it was in the U.S. Most likely recalled lights but they work fine and I just reaimed them. Maybe install a resistor load from vleds.com? I dont see why you would need to if you are using regular filament bulbs but it may be worth a shot. I got an extra pair of the resistors for sale if you like. Hit me a pm.
