Window tint = fix it ticket

I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this thread...but I got pulled the other day for my front window tint. (I live in cali) For those of you in Cali that got pulled for this, is there any way of getting out of the ticket without peeling tint and getting it redone after you pay the fix it fee? Thanks in advance!

BTW, they screwed up my race and STATE for my drivers license. if that means anything.

well most of my cop friends won't write off my tickets b/c they don't want to jeopardize their career... best thing u can do is remove the tint and get it signed off... good luck!

pay the fine $100+ and be done with it.

too much hassle of getting it taken off, going to the court/police station to sign it off, and than getting it put back on

i was under the impression that if its marked "fixable" you have to take the tint off but you pay a much smaller fine.

fixable....$10 if you get it fixed. otherwise you post bail and that's it.

the government just wants your money. they could really care less if you fix the tint or not.

just spoke to a friend that had a fix it ticket for his windows, he said paying the fine is alot easier rather than removing tint, pay $20 fee (one for PD, one for the courts to remove from record) then travel 45 miles to have tint put back on.

I got a ticket also, there is a place in OC that will removed my front tint so could get it signed off and then put new tint back on for 50 bucks.. anytime from now on that i get another ticket, anytime from now on that i get a ticket, they are gonna remove and replace the tint for free. The front windows are actually the easiest to tint.

I got a front plate ticket also, I used velcro to hold the plate on and got it signed off. worked great and i didnt have to drill holes.

Just becareful, if you get three "fix it" tickets in a 12 month period, it will be classified as a misdemeanor...I just did a quick google search for Cali DMV laws...so I could be wrong. good luck to everyone else that get these stupid citations.

mmmmm if you can get an optometrist to sign off on a letter stating that when you go outside the sun hurts your eyes too much for you to properly operate the car, you might be able to get away with it.....

paying the fine is such a ripoff. peeling it off and getting it signed is a hassle. what you could probably do is find someone (preferrably someone that you may know or whoever is down to give you this time and favor) is look for someone that has a G have the same body type and color and that have no tints. swap license plate with him/her take their car and have it get signed off. pay $10 bucks, swap it back and drive on!

ya very smart, run a risk of getting a felony over a stupid 100$ ticket.
