Unless you're building a show car leave the lambo doors on the Lamos! That
to me is a stupid mod, spend you $ where it counts (underhood)!

lambo doors dont look right on any Car. especially the G since it sits higher then the real sports car. (corvette, lambo, Ferrari, nsx) etc etc..

Just because the G is "luxury" doesn't make it okay to install lambo doors no matter what people say. most people with laugh at you and say it's played out.

and cmon, why do you need them? so you can park your car at some HS and bump up the music really loud with both doors open and think ur the "man". hahaha.

If you do get them, posts some pics so your ride can be featured herel RICER OF THE WEEK

lol i love the lambo doors...once installed, they will sag a little, but if you adjust them once, the fitment stays perfect...It is a little bit of a PIA to get them to fit right, but like most mods, take the time to do it right, and it looks SICK! Plus the ladies LOVE IT!! our frame-less doors look nasty up in the air with the windows down....If my Avus don't sell, (shameless plug, check 19" wheel classifieds) I'll take a couple pics with the rims on so you guys can see that it looks pretty damn good...

I think lambo doors were cool when they first came out and not a lot of peopel had them. But yeah once Civics, Integra's, and just about every other car started to get them, I got reallyturned off by them. Not only that, yeah way to damn expensive! I am sure I can think of a MUCH better way to spend $2000 on my car than to just make my doors go up!

SO my 2 cents is I would not get them, but if you do, yeah do not go cheap! DO not get those $100 instructions that say you can build it from parts at Home Depot or anything. go to VericleDoors.com, they will probably be your best bet.

Like other people have been saying, leave the vertical doors to show cars only. I'm involved with a shop here and we've done a few vertical door kits on various vehicles from various manufactures, and can say that no one particular kit fits right. Some fit better than others, but by all means, it is a real pain to get the fitment right. And then after you have the fitment right, after a few drives, and opening and closing of the doors, they go out of alignment again. And the G really is no different than any other car as far as if it works to do this or not on this vehicle.....same problems with the G as any other civic/eclipse/rx8/mercedes etc.

The biggest difference between all the different vertical door kits out there are how easy it is or isn't to adjust the doors in the closed position to prevent paint damage from a sagging or missaligned door when it is being closed. Each kit has different means to how they try to make the "resting position" of the door work. Some have pins that slip into pockets, others just have a stop on the hinge itself etc. but none are easy to adjust no matter which kit you have. And by no means are any of the kits a "set-it-and-forget-it" deal. They usually require periodic adjustment.

So I say again, leave the vertical doors to the show cars and not the daily driver. Reason being, even if you get the doors adjusted properly so there is no scraping or anything like that, the door isn't designed to be opened in this fashion and therefore the front bottom of the door gets in your way when you enter/exit your vehicle. Why do you think they now make kits that position the door a full 90 degrees or even farther? That's right...to get that bottom front of the door out of your way. When your getting in and out of a car constantly when doing errands and such that have the vertical doors, it's a real pain. We know here at the shop from driving customers vehicles that have the vertical doors to and from shows here and it's not fun once you actually have to move the car to and from shows. Sure it's cool and all, and draws alot of attention, when you pull up in a black G with big staggered wheels, body kit, and full audio/video interior, and then open your doors vertically to get out, but to live with it day-to-day, it's not worth the money or inconveniance.

But again, if it's a show car, then go for it. Obviously more points for more mods right? And I would only get the vertical doors on my show vehicle as the last thing to get on my mod list. I would do everything else first.

From a previous owner of lambo doors.. and actually going BACK to stock.. i'm telling you now.. don't get them.. unless your car really is only for show and not really your daily driver.. it's gonna be a pain squeezing in and out of your car...the thing is.. you have to open the door first and then lift up the door.. doesnt just go straight up as there is a fat piece of metal there.. so if your door is open already you might as well get in.. then you start thinking wow this sucks why dont i just use stock doors.. and then thats when you will switch back..

BUT! if you really must.. welding is the way to go.. doesn't sag like most people said here and good fitment.. hard to go back though... so think HARD about your decision.. GL and post pics if you do!
