Talking Colormatched Nismo Rear Diffuser installed

I got this Nismo rear diffuser last week, painted in the factory DG color. Fitment isn't perfect, but it's very good. I'd say 95%?

Couldn't sleep last night. I was catching up on an old episode of Heroes online, around 6:00am or so. Suddently I decided to make better use of my time and install the damn thing. So, I dragged my *** out of bed and went to the garage. It was about 45 degrees outside, btw. I was in some dri-fit shorts and a base layer shirt. Anybody else ever tried "Midnight Modding?" lol...

Took my time, but here it is. I'm pretty happy with the results. I debated painting the diffuser black like everyone else, but I like how subtle it looks right now...looks as if the G came from the factory with it.

Test-Fitting. It's just resting on the exhaust in these 3 pics.

Installed. These 5 pics are post-install.

Excuse how dirty the car is. Local guys: Shut up. It'll be clean before the meet this weekend.

Never was a fan of this color matched. I remember when Mike had it color matched. You can tell it's stuck on, IMO, so having it painted black makes it more subtle, IMO.

Actually, it's hard tell that it's stuck on. These pics might be misleading, because of the angle. I was outside of the garage on the slope of the driveway, holding the camera next to the ground, so it was much lower than the car. In reality, you'd never see that angle under there. If you're on the same plane as the car, it lines up pretty tightly from all angles except for one spot, which is why I said 95% fitment.

Black is much LESS subtle imo, especially given my car's current sleeper look. Either way, 1000x better than a vinyl sticker, I think.

Appreciate all your guys' comments, whether you like it or not

I guess the fact that it doesn't sit flush with the rest of the bumper isn't enough to tell that it's stuck on. I've seen Nismo [style] diffusers on several cars, in black, c/f, and color matched, and they never sit flush with the rest of the bumper - it's impossible. Not to mention I used to own one. The only way to achieve a flush look is with vinyl or paint (paint being the best option, IMO). Whether it fits 100% or not, it'll stick out a little because of the thickness of this thing.

Don't get me wrong, it still looks good. It's just not something I would do on my car.

I'm actually pretty happy with how it turned out, but I can always get it repainted in the future if I want to change it up (I've been known to do that once in awhile right? lol...) I just ordered some smoked sidemarker overlays from Blue Bat. Along with painting the headlights, I think that's enough black accents for now.

I get what you're saying now. No it's not flush in that sense. I only care about how it lines up and how snug the fit is. If there's no gaps or inconsistencies, then it just looks like it's a "bulge" on the stock bumper. One of the main reasons I got this instead of just a vinyl overlay, is because of how it changes the shape and appearance of the stock bumper, without going to a full bumper replacement. Unfortunately I don't like any of the rear lip/valence options.

how much does it lessen the clearance for the exhaust tips? I'm afraid of i get one, my tips will be touching the diffuser.

Looks good. Diff. But I sorta like black. The G coupe already has a fat rear. So a black version would help "thin" out the rear a bit.
