New Stone Guard Installed

Hey guys. I just had the bodyshop replace new stone guard, the clear piece in front of the rear fenders. As I was watching them install it, first they clean off the fender with windex and then sprayed some windex onto adhesive side of the guard to help position the piece. I'm just worried that windex might cause negative effects on the guard or even the body paint. What do you guys think?

i doubt the windex will have any negative effects. they use it so that they can position it before the adhesive starts sticking, kind of like window tinters.

That's the proper way to apply vinyl. The soap allows them to position it and then they squeegee it out. Should be fine.

soap=/windex, are you sure it was windex? The ammonia can have a negative effect on the adhesive

ha ha..why didn't you say something!! only soap and water should be used, but I would be just as concerned as you..maybe call him and ask him, have him redo it...it can't be too much for that sticker..

If its a reputable body shop I doubt that they would use something to damage the paint or the stone gaurd...
