Non-OEM leather interior

Has anyone ever had to use an upholster shop to install leather other either as an upgrade or a replacement?

If so, have you ever heard of Katzkin leather?

I question the craftsmanship, and quality of the material of these shops as oppose to oem. What is your opinion on buying a car without leather then adding the after market?

Have you thought about just replacing the seats?

It's not for me, one of my in-laws wants to buy a Toyo Sienna, but the model he wants (with 8 seats) does not come in leather (not a factory option). Dealer suggested the aftermarket, I just don't know if I could trust the quality.

I have seen the katzkin on one of those tuck shows. I would get a price from a local interior shop and see what they say.

That seems like a fair deal, my friend is getting his seats upgraded to leather from a local upholster shop on his 2008 Altima Coupe. He got an estimate of $750.
