Brake light or what?

My fiance just got a 03 G35 Coupe. On the rear deck against the window it looks like there is a brake light or something & can't figure it out. If she steps on the brake it dosen't light up but the light on the spoiler comes on. So what is it for?????? I hope this makes since to you guys. Lol............

I think what your talking about is indeed a break light. Maybe the bulb is burnt out?

Looks like you might have been sold a faulty G35. As others have stated it is a brake light.

or maybe

the spoiler was aftermarket and because theres a brake light on it the original owner decided to unplug the fuse for the back brake light...I'd check that first

I would have to look at my manual, never had to replace it...Its gotta be easy than taking out the back window.... well, at least I hope so...ya know, G's are particulary user friendly, you have to take the bumber off to replace headlights....

ding ding we have a winner. The spoiler was put on the car after it arrived at the port. That is the reason you have 2 "brake lights". I do not know if one was disconnected, but that is a possibility. Next time i go out to my car i'll check it both of them light up.

Like the others said, they put on the trunk spoiler after the fact. So, I'm sure they simply disconnected the rear brake light located inside the car....

And, for the record, the brake light used LED's not a bulb.....

Good luck

I don't think there's a fuse just for the rear window brake lights.. The lights were probably ghetto rigged and spliced up to hook up to the spoiler LED's.
