Anyone had a body panel repainted???
Hey guys,
I have an '04 DG coupe and my dealership is going to have to repaint my bumper because they backed my car into something when I was getting some work done.
My question is this: On a 4-year-old car like ours, is it possible to repaint just one panel and have it match?
I've heard if one panel is repainted the neighboring panels have to be repainted and blended in order for it to truly match.
I ask because I have a feeling the dealer will remove my bumper's paint, heat up and pop out the dent, respray really cheaply and quickly, then slap it back on. Then the paint will be darker than the rest of the paint, and they'll say something like "Oh, that's normal from a respray, just wait and it'll match."
Considering they didn't tell me about the damage and I had to find it myself before leaving the dealership, I don't exactly trust them, to say the least.
Any hints/suggestions/tips you have to make sure they do the job right is much appreciated.

to get it matched correctly they're gonna have to blend it...
well, that depends on how bad the damage is, and also where the damage is located..
but if it's not perfect in ur eyes, make sure you tell them and have them redo it... i wouldn't take a half *** paint job... especially when the dealer fked it up..

Update: Went to pick up the car and the paint matched perfectly!
The bad news: They left the dent in the bumper, so they still have it. The detailing guy seemed to think the dent couldn't be removed. I'm really hoping this gets resolved quickly.
