Nope, I don't think I have seen one Sedan on this site with a CF hood. I'd be a bit skeptical buying from a company I have never heard of. I would do some searching on the quality of those parts before someone just jumps on it and buys it.

I would not suggest anyone buy from them... the place is kinda shady. An incident happened where I needed a new hood so I looked around and found these guys... First they kept saying this thing fits on 05+ and they already know it's different designs. Even though I was told it would only take a few days before they sent my hood out, a month went by and they still haven't sent my hood out, so I canceled the transaction.

Nobody cares is you think carbon fiber turns your awesome "luxury" mobile into a "rice" mobile.

Being an automotive engineer and more specifically an aero design engineer, I think I have a BIT more insight on carbon fiber and its characteristics then then Joe shmo, or in this case JonE5. Your a noob to this forum so don't come in here waving your dick around like your something special, because your a dime a dozen pal.

edit: after re-reading your last post your a tool. You think your carbon fiber hood saved you 20-25lbs on your civic? I can guran-damn-tee you that hood was from either Seibon or VIS in which case it is wet hand laid carbon, giving you a savings of maybe 2-3lbs. You really must know nothing about carbon.
I'm assuming the only reason you're still on this forum after your illogical and uncouth verbal diarrhea quoted above is because you are a "sponsor."

Well, Mr. Sponsor, next time you try to burn on someone for something, I've got a list of tips you could try to follow, it'll help you actually not get laughed at when you try to shut someone down.

Rule 1: make logical sense. You didnt address any of JonE5's criticisms, other than to say he is a "noob" and a "deuschebag" whatever the **** the latter word means. (for all you ESL folks, it's DOUCHEbag.. learn to ****ing spell, you're not 5 anymore and no, it's no excuse that you are on a forum. If anything it highlights your ignorance because we have a god damned spell check button.

Rule 2: Avoid ad-hominem attacks. Again for ESL folks, that means that you don't attack the person behind the argument, you attack the argument itself. Jon whateverthe**** might be a newbie (he isn't; 300 posts is sufficient to brand someone as a regular user), that doesnt mean he is wrong. In fact it seems like he does have the expertise and coherency to talk about this. You might be an engineer but you can't spell so...not too sure where to go on that one.

Rule 4: Be correct. You say no-one talked about speed but they did, JonE5 was dismissing incorrect information that WAS posted in this thread. He took time out of his day to write a reasoned out post as a cautionary tale to this forum's members. You on the other hand are contributing to the misinformation by your blanket statements dismissing his qualification to answer the question, even though as far as I can tell he is completely right.

Rule 5: Dont **** off your customers. I for one want a cf hood for my car, and I might order it from you. That said, I don't enjoy salesmen talking tough to customers. It's bad business.

All that said, I agree with both of you: CF hoods are simply not mods for speed, contrary to what HAS been posted in this thread, but I do agree they look great. I want one and I'll be checking out your selection.

Have a nice day everybody,

Rocaveli

Dumb thread that got outta hand in the first place.

Go play nice, now.
Actually, if there's anyone who's able to get a quality cf hood for the sedans made (or any other exterior part that otherwise wouldn't be available), it would be the guys from Showstoppers who can make it all happen. Otherwise, it seems the only option would be raceonusa.com, and if you look a few posts up, you'll see how I feel about them...

And although I do feel I can argue with both sides about something they've stated or how they stated it, I really see no point, although I would side with Jim for the most part... but for the hell of it...

I don't think most people are going to strip their entire interior and install lexan windows on their G to lose weight. Parts like the cf hood, lightweight battery, etc... to lose a few pounds here and there make much more sense, although, if I really cared, I'd strip the interior... getting rid of the audio seems a little too much though since I need my music when I commute, just for my own sanity. The lexan windows are more than just a bit too impractical though (why not dump the AC and heater core too? Those are heavier parts)... at least the hood will work just like the stock part.

And just to add a little more thought to the argument, this is a front motor, rear wheel drive car... front motor, meaning it's front heavy, which is not ideal for handling. Rear wheel drive, I believe you want to lose as much weight from in front of the front windshield. Either way, you want to lose as much weight in the front first, before taking out the seats, seatbelts (about 15-20 lbs from the rear of a Civic, not sure about the G), etc...

But I doubt most of the people here care about most of that... obviously, they just like the look... which, kinda makes any argument about weight loss pointless...

Ah... in a way, I was responding to the bitterness in this thread too... your post just gave me the idea somehow.

Werd, don't like me don't buy from me. I'm probably one of the most real vendors on this forum. I'm not going to down play my posts just because I am a sponsor. They aren't going to kick me out, I can guarantee you that. Check out 90% of my posts on my350z, they are about video games or sports. I'm not only here to sell parts, I've made some good friends on these sites and like to enjoy my time here. If I disagree with someone I have just as much right to speak my mind as the next.

To get this alittle back on topic, we are in the process of making a new hood for the coupes. Once that is completed, I'll run the idea of an OEM and vented hood for the sedan past the guys at mastergrade.
