Fiberglass? Urethane?
Hi I'm starting to shop for aftermarket bodykits for my car - does anyone know what "VFiber" is, and whether its better/worse than urethane? - also is there a huge difference between poly urethane and fiberglass bumpers?
Would it be a bad idea to get fiberglass for sideskirts//front lip (because of possible scraping? - I'm under the impression that fiberglass can crack fairly easily)
thanks

I guess it depends how low you go. I got a greddy front bumper which is the lowest and I scrape all over the place cause Im pretty low and all it leaves is just scrape marks under the bumper where you cant see. I had a urethane front before on another car and when I bottomed out it flexed and cracked the paint

Fiberglass - if it's not wavy and fits right then it will look good .. also easier to paint but yes it do crack fairly easily depending on how thick the fiberglass bumper is. Little rocks can crack/chip/shoot a hole through your fiberglass! it also maintain it's shape.
Urethane - Fexible, hard to prep, if it's wavy then its even HARDER to prep, paint doesnt really stick to it .. must be primered with flexible primer, sags over long periods of time, dries and harden over longer period of time leading to possible cracking in the sun!!!
I have a urethane nismo replica bumper and I prefer urethane over fiberglass just because I always scrape... other than that, if you're REALLY careful with a fiberglass front bumper, then of course the fiberglass one would last longer and maintain it's shape way better.
